1550 Total

Mostly the combat levels, but various bits and pieces all over. 3 more cooking levels also helped keep us stocked for the combat training and Wintertodt going forward. 2 new chunks, lets go!

This is better than it looks. Rimmington was a temporary unlock with no content left. However, it works well as a transport hub for us. We currently have no easy way to get to Ardougne, as the teleport is locked behind Biohazard. Setting out house to Rimmington means we can house teleport then use the nearby dock to get there much faster than previously. Not a good unlock, but it does make our life easier and it certainly makes the map look cleaner.

Boo! We’ve rerolled Mount Karuulm in the past because it really does suck. Two awful adjacencies, and while it does contain some pretty cool content, we’re pretty hard locked out of it. Konar is the absolute worst slayer master for us, despite being my usual favourite, because she cares about location as well as monster type, which we are incapable of being flexible about. There may come a time where she’s a valid option, especially if we get some points banked, but certainly not now. The dungeon itself has a few monsters we’re too low slayer level to kill, or exist elsewhere, and Sulfur Lizards offer nothing interesting. So a chunk with potential maybe, but mainly just a tease with bad feels 😦

A lot to say about two chunks that fundamentally don’t do anything. Moving forward is gonna take something special, likely a rules change tragically. Debating between clue unlocks and first boss kills. Clues are pretty painful though, and encouraging the account to push itself to be able to kill a boss even once is a pretty good way of creating structured goals.

So one new chunk (not two) for every first boss kill moving forward. Crazy Archeologist and Sarachnis are on the menu.

90 Combat

We did most of this at Pest Control to grind out as much of that collection log as we can. We also did some more Obor kills for nothing exciting. I wish Slayer was an option but it really isn’t right now. Some nice unlocks would be good

Nothing exciting here, like most of Zeah. The chunk to the south would be a cool-ish unlock though, so its not all bad. Lackluster overall

This one isn’t too bad. It takes us only one chunk away from the Watchtower quest. Can’t quite get it done yet though, so nothing to do here.

Next up is 1550 total, which better be good or I don’t know where we go next.

Shades of Mort’ton minigame

A fun minigame that no-one does, certainly the first time I had done it. Pretty quick, got everything under drop rate. Amulet of the Damned is a powerful neck slot, but it degrades so we’re saving it for bossing or similar.

Smoke Dungeon is useful eventually I guess? That’s infinity slayer levels away though. For now, there’s no real content here. The teak trees to the west are theoretically an unlock but Wintertodt has kept that well stocked. For now, kinda nothing

Molch has some Theiving stuff we can think about, but nothing new to be gained except the relatively useless onyx bolt tips. Lizardman shamans are a little out of our reach right now, so we’re leaving molch alone for now. Two bad adjacencies too.

Not the best unlocks, and we’re lacking some momentum here. 90 Combat up next, which is gonna be a real grind

Death Plateau

The rewards screen should really mention the actual good reward, climbing boots. These have a +1 strength bonus, making them our best available boots for melee. Mostly though this is just progress upwards towards the Troll Stronghold, but that is important progress.

Useless filler land that we’ve rerolled in the past. The perfect unlock really. Might make pathing easier in the future I guess? At least nothing negative

This is a good chunk but not yet. Jungle Potion and its follow ups will be a huge part of making progress soon, but we still need the chunk northeast of this one to make progress on that front. This is half of that battle so it’s great to have, but it is the less good half. Still, really nice to have.

The quest snowball has ended, but we’ve still got some content left to explore. Shades of Mort’ton minigame next I imagine.

Spirits of the Elid

A quest with legitimately good rewards, amazing. 8k Prayer xp is no joke. Making Nardah a recovery point in the desert is pretty nice too. 2 more chunks!

A good one! This is enough to complete Death Plateau, and we can start making the 9 chunk crawl up towards Desert Treasure completion. Death Plateau also comes with a very small boots upgrade to speed up our melee training. A solid unlock

This would be great if we could use it. Monkfish would be a huge boost to our fishing training and a new repeatable food source. However, Swan Song requires a few more quests before we can start it, so we’re a way off for now. Good to cross off as an unlock though.

Good couple of chunks, lets keep the quest chain rolling

Alfred Grimhand’s Barcrawl + Scorpion Catcher

After drinking our way around Gielnor, we completed the barcrawl. This lets us in to the Barbarian agility course, lets us smash vials when finishing a potion, and lets us do 2 quests. Only Scorpion Catcher is immediately doable, but still a great thing to have done. 2 chunks, coming up.

More Shazien territory, but nothing really here. As is the way with most of Zeah. Unlocks Shazien bank as unlockable so not too shabby.

We’ve rerolled this multiple times in the past. There’s something satisfying about eventually unlocking a chunk you keep putting off. This chunk does have a boss in, but Wilderness bosses are way out of our reach. Two bad adjacencies too. Sigh.

A quest shorter than writing the blog about it. The xp is obviously irrelevant at this stage of the account, and mystic staves are a rip off. But quests are quests and two more chunks!

Previous rerolls are this blog’s theme it seems. It does have a positive adjacency so it’s not all bad, but it is otherwise featureless desert. Of the 8 desert chunks left, there are 5 that complete quests. Boo!

But this is one of the good ones! This both unlocks the Magic Carpet to Sophanem and Menaphos and lets us complete the Spirits of Elid quest. Really solid unlock, nice to keep the ball rolling with these unlocks.

Only one nice chunk here, but progress is progress!

Shades of Mort’ton

This is a tale of tragedy more than one of success. Although this is still a great chunk, to progress with In Search of the Myreque we actually need to step two tiles into the chunk to the east. This is pretty tragic, and means we’re only going to make medium account progress here, not the huge bounds I was anticipating. Still, two chunks

Well the hits keep coming. This is a great unlock, giving us a series of exciting things. Weirdly, it starts with a bar crawl. Alfred Grimhand’s Barcrawl is a minigame required for two quests, and we need Blueberry’s Bar in the Grand Tree to complete it. We also get access to the gnome clothes shop. These clothes have no stats, but many are required for clue steps, so this makes farming out Easy clues much more feasible. Thirdly, we can start progressing with The Grand Tree. I don’t think we have every chunk we need, but its a great quest once we can get it done. Overall, excellent chunk, one of the top 5.

This chunk is also here. A resource area for F2P, this would once have been a font of unlocks. Now, we have easier and more convenient access to the resources elsewhere, so this is mostly blank. Nothing bad though

Next up, barcrawl!

In Search of Knowledge

Man I wish miniquests had completion screens 😛 We got all 12 pages, and that tasty 10k xp lamp. Going to herblore like all lamps as an Ironman.

Nothing too exciting here, but the chunk below it would unlock Shazien Favor so that’s cool

We’ve been waiting SO long, hundred and hundreds of rolls without hitting it, but Mort’ton is finally here! An entire quest chain, multiple minigames, new training methods, new access to resources, this chunk has it all! So excited! Furthermore, the chunk to the right is Barrows, which is where we can start to really rack up some boss kill count and get serious gear upgrades. Get hyped!

Shades of Mort’ton lets go!

Mountain Daughter

Q

Quick, easy and mostly pointless. 2 new chunks though makes content like this exciting!

We’ve rerolled this once before, but we don’t have any stored up. Despite looking like a cool village that could have stuff to do, its completely featureless. No negative adjacency at least

Now this chunk is exciting. The castle itself is pretty cool, being important for Architectural Alliance and Client of Kourend. But the really good part is the catacombs beneath

Look at all those monsters! None of these are completely inaccessible elsewhere, but its basically always better to kill things here than anywhere else. Lots of cool stuff, and a theoretical boss to kill!
In addition, there’s 4 exits in the corners of the dungeon, lets see which chunks they unlock as potentials

So it turns out there are no new surface chunks except from the bottom right corner… which doesn’t lead to the surface. It leads to the Forthos Dungeon! This is the biggest unlock in a while, and I didn’t even know it was possible! This is so incredibly good.

Forthos is a dungeon designed for mid level players like this account. Temple Spiders, Undead Druids and Red Dragons are all great, farmable mobs with some interesting drops all round. There’s also the miniquest In Search of Knowlege, and Grubby Keys giving us early access to Sara Brews, Super Restores and Sharks. This makes the Fire Cape much more feasible in the near future. Temple Spiders also drop Weapon Poison +, so we can slightly improve our main melee weapon! In future, we can also kill Sarachnis for her 4 unique drops, though we’d want a better crush weapon before we try to kill her more than a couple of times.

Very exciting unlock, and so much better than expected. Miniquest next!

1525 Total

A suite of levels takes us to 1525. Some of everything really, no super important milestones. 2 new chunks!

The Relekka focus continues. Mountain Camp is a pretty self contained chunk – no new adjacency, and just a single quest with no real reward or follow up. Double rewards was invented for chunks like this though, and 2 more chunks from a quick quests will be really nice

I said Relekka focus and I meant it! Neitiznot doesn’t do much yet. We could farm out a granite shield, but with a dragon defender that would be a little redundant. Once we get the rest of the Fremennik Isles things get more interesting

2 good chunks, next up Mountain Daughter
