3 more unlocks

2 quests that come with enough xp for a total level unlock without any grinding! Herblore 17 without having touched a herb is also kind of insane for an account like this

Just like our last triple, we have plenty more to do, but we still hit some good ones. Wilderness unlocks continue to be useless and unlock more uselessness, but whatever

Rimmington dock doesn’t do much for now except unlock Melzar’s Maze and a step towards Corsair’s Cove. Doesn’t unlock anything bad and is an important step, so medium

Ardougne central. This is one of the best ones. Not as good as Rimmington central, but man there is a lot of content here. We can probably do Tribal Totem, thieving options open right up and all the adjacent tiles are great. Fantastic, and we still have plenty to do

3 quick quests

I doubt we’ll ever get 3 unlocks at once ever again, and we’re still not done with how good this last chunk was! Sadly i did a really bad job getting the quest complete screenshots

So thats THREE new chunks. Doesn’t matter too much if these suck, theres plenty more to do

But actually, not bad! The Chaos Temple isn’t anything to write home about, unlocking a bunch more blanks, but whatever. Elder chaos druids are an okay place to train once we hit 37 prayer, but not exciting given how rare their robes are

Port Phasmatys is great. We can finally train prayer in a way that isn’t terrible, and Ghosts Ahoy may well be complete-able too. Mainly the prayer thing is exciting, maybe time to range some blue dragons? Adjacent chunks are pretty bad though

Brimhaven should unlock Rag and Bone man, a new agility course and a couple of good adjacent chunks. Solid and an important step towards some of the important Karamja content

Tears of Guthix

I definitely should have done this straight after Lost City but I legitimately forgot that we only needed 1 quest point more. Minigame is interesting but we bought a house so its not the most powerful right now.

The unlock however is insane. The best possible. There’s so much here, and its incredible. Lets start with the chunk itself.

The chunk contains a herblore shop so we can do the Golem. We can access the lady of the lake so we can do Merlin’s Crystal. Merlin’s Crystal will unlock 50 kudos and Varrock Easy. The crystal chest is here in case we hit the rare drop table. There’s also taverly dungeon, unlocking a whole suite of monsters, most notably lesser demons and blue/black dragons. We might actually train range on some dragons given our need for prayer xp.

But the real unlock is the chunk above. Although we already unlocked it, the majority was inaccessible until now. And this chunk comes with the entire herblore skill. This will be maybe 10 chunks in rapid succession? So much has been held back by herblore and at last we can make some real progress.

We can also do Witch’s House for what it’s worth.

Without this unlock I would be feeling relatively bleak moving forward, but now the world is our Oyster!

60 Combat

Good god combat levels are a grind. But we unlocked rune armour (once we can buy some) and are one step closer to Haunted Mine

This unlock is weird. it doesn’t do anything right now, and even once the minigame unlocks it’s a waste of time. Observatory to the north and Jiggig to the south are both relatively exciting, and we do need Yanille for the hunter shop and wizards guild at some point. Overall not what I hoped for, but intriguing

Now we really need this Tears of Guthix chunk to be kind

Total 850

This one has been a grind. We’re relatively close to 60 combat if this unlock doesn’t pan out, but after that it’s gonna be a nightmare if we don’t hit…

And we sure didn’t. This is useless, and unlocks 3 useless potentials. one of the worst possible! There’s a spawn for gold ore and steel platelegs, both of which are easily accessible elsewhere and nothing else.

Lost City

Zanaris at last! Quest was very easy once unlocked. This gives us access to the Fairy quests, black dragons and eventually our first dragon weapons.

For our unlock we got Brimhaven dock. This gives us our first fruit tree patch, though given the need to charter there that’s not currently feasible. It also unlocks Brimhaven proper and Ardougne central as potential chunks – which are both exciting – and the chunk to the west which is not. Overall a good unlock, but nothing for now

Zanaris is exciting, and I believe Fairytale 1 should be doable, so thats the current plan

Total 825

We’ve done some mining, smithing and a little combat to get these 25 levels. Not been long since the last chunk

And we got a good one! Not much actual utility right now, but crafting guild access comes with a free chunk, and the makeover mage means we can do recruitment drive once herblore unlocks. It also unlocks melzar’s maze and rimmington dock as a potential chunk

And here we are! Chain unlocks don’t warrant their own post so we get a double 🙂

Entrana! This is a good one – we unlock the ability to complete Lost City, which might open up a whole quest chain. Sadly we don’t get the hops patch or herblore shop yet, but any chunk with a quest is exciting. Lets get a couple of magic levels and do lost city!

Mining Guild unlocked!

First chunk of the blog, woo!

We got to 59 Mining and boosted to enter the guild. Not much actually in here except a better place to mine iron and access to mining gloves.

Our unlock is the kalphite lair. This really doesn’t do anything for us, since the workers and soldiers have no new drops, and and queen is obviously way beyond us. It doesn’t unlock anything negative, and is a step towards the desert diaries, so overall medium.

We did also accidentally discover that the chunk north of camelot isn’t actually accessible, so that’s one less bad chunk to unlock.

For now, we’re gonna continue the mining and smithing grind in our newly unlocked guild for 10 more levels.

Where we stand

This is an odd place to start recording progress, but here we go

Here are our current levels. Herblore and Construction are currently locked behind Taverly and Rimmington respectively. Hunter is also locked with no clear training method in sight, and is our current lamp skill. Our slayer task is dogs

This is our map. Most of the out of place chunks come from jewelry or charter ships. Noteably, the Wintertodt chunk is locked until we step foot on Zeah.

Currently, I have 32 chunks from levels, 5 from combat, 22 from quests, 0 from bosses, 3 from guilds, 1 from diaries and 1 from clues, plus the original chunk, for a total of 65 chunks unlocked

Goals include 60 Mining for the guild unlock, and the prayer/combat required to beat Haunted Mine, at least 40 prayer. In theory we can also get a Pestle and Mortar from Tarn’s Lair to complete the Golem quest
